Lego Technic Cars

Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron – Most Popular

This is by far the most popular Lego Technic Car. We found that the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron is stealing the show with 3,599 pieces and looks freaking cool! To give you an idea of the scale for the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron, it’s 5″ tall and 22″ long with detailed engine, suspension and 8-speed gearbox. It’s one of the most advanced Lego Technic Sets out there. This is a great gift idea for advanced kids who want to know what goes into a supercar and honestly will pick up some great engineering skills along the way. Let’s face it, most of us won’t be able to buy a real supercar, so a Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron is more likely!

Lego Technic Porsche 911

The Lego Technic Porsche 911 is the second most popular Lego Technic Car out there based on Google search results and it’s not hard to tell why. This Lego Technic Set holds 2,704 pieces (just 895 pieces less than the Lego Technic Bugatti) but that’s only because the Lego Technic Porche is smaller in size scale. It stands 6″ tall and  22″ inches long and comes in electric orange. There is a white version, but that has less pieces. If you’re going to build a replica Lego Technic Porche 911, you want to go all out!

Lego Technic Rally Car

For the third most popular Lego Technic Car, the Lego Technic Rally Car is significantly less in price, coming in at around $100. However don’t let the price full you, it’s still quite the Lego Technic Set with 1,005 pieces and stands 9″ tall and 16″ tall. That is because Lego Technic Rally Cars need that suspension height. This is an advanced model with opening hood and truck so you can see every piece of the Lego Technic Rally Car engine in action!

Lego Technic Ferrari

So technically there isn’t a Lego Technic Ferrari despite all the people that search for “Lego Technic Ferrari”. What actually exists is a Lego “Racer” Enzo Ferrari, an equally complex build it yourself Lego model of a Ferrari. However from our research, this Lego Technic Set has been discontinued and you can only buy the impressive set from third party sellers who, let’s face it, are selling it as a premium collectable. So if you want a Lego Technic Ferrari, be ready to shell out anywhere from $600 on Ebay to $1,555 on Amazon. Is it worth it? Probably not, but dang is it cool! Check out the photos we found!

McLaren P1 Hypercar

This is an incredible Lego Technic set that doesn’t actually exist. This is one of the most popular Lego Technic Car sets because of the viral nature of the McLaren. What actually happened was big Lego Technic Car fan took the parts from a number of other Lego Technic Sets and made their own instructions on how to create an actual Lego Technic McLaren. We found those instructions you can follow for the Lego Technic McLaren, but there is no actual Lego Technic Set you can buy. However if you buy any Lego Technic Car set, you likely have 80% of the pieces. Follow these instructions to create your own Lego Technic McLaren masterpiece. We only recommend this for people who have built one or two actual Lego Technic Supercars already.

Lego Technic Corvette

We were surprised that the Lego Technic Corvette was so popular because usually only people over 55+ actually own a Chevrolet Corvette. Let’s face it, most younger generations don’t care about Corvettes, they were popular in the late 1990’s and that’s it. We’ll give credit though to Chevrolet for radically revamping the new Corvette design to inspire a younger generation to like it, and perhaps it’s paying off. Otherwise, maybe it’s those 55+ people who are buying the Lego Technic Corvette for their collections. Then again, at $45.99, this is one of the most affordable Lego Technic Sets so the price point could be for everyone!

Mustang

This is another set that’s not technically a Lego Technic Set, it’s a Lego Creator Set. However, it has lots of pieces that need a well-engineered mind to assemble. So we may be able to call it a Lego Technic Mustang. This Lego Technic Mustang has 1,471 pieces and stands at 3″ tall and 13″ long. So it’s one of the smaller Lego Technic sets, but this American Muscle Super Car looks really cool! Since mustangs are all the rage right now, this Lego Technic Mustang may be the perfect gift to get a young mind or young soul, into an engineering mindset and build something with an attention to detail. By the way, this Lego Technic Mustang comes with a Nos gauge in the back for some extreme street racing (in your imagination).

Lego Technic Trucks

Lego Technic Tow Truck

The wheels alone on the Lego Technic Tow Truck are amazing! This Lego Technic Tow Truck is a beast of power with an actual crane in the back and even stilts for stability. If the 1,862 didn’t capture your attention, maybe the fact that this Lego Technic set comes with its own controller so you can drive your Lego Technic Tow Truck all around the house finding toys to tow. Having a tow truck may not be the coolest job as an adult, but in the imagination of a kid, tow trucks are the king of the road. If a car is in your way, this Lego Technic Tow Truck can just lift them out of the way! In size alone, the Lego Technic Tow Truck sits at 20″ tall and 24″ long for an ultimate all-terrain tow truck (that you build yourself)!

Land Rover Defender

Not only the vehicle of choice for suburban moms, the Lego Technic Land Rover Defender is the ultimate symbol for off-road adventures! While this particular Lego Technic Set is likely unavailable, we couldn’t actually find Lego Technic Land Rover Defender sets online. However, we’re sure if you’re really determined, you can find a set someone (with a crazy markup). While we think the Lego Technic Land Rover Defender is the ultimate Lego Technic Truck, because look at it, there are some epic alternatives in the Lego Technic Stunt Truck and Lego Technic Construction vehicles below. We just wanted to let you know that the Lego Technic Land Rover Defender exists someone where in the world.

Stunt Truck

The Lego Technic Stunt Truck is one of the more affordable Lego Technic Sets and yet, also one of the coolest. This is a great Lego Technic Set for kids who actually want play and use their Lego Technic Truck. It’s only 142 pieces, so considerably less pieces to break off than the Lego Technic Super Cars. It’s meant to go off ramps and has a special motor where if you pull the Lego Technic Stunt Truck back, it’s motor will wind up to propel it forward. At an affordable price point, the Lego Technic Stunt Truck is one of the most popular Lego Technic Trucks that Lego has!

Police Interceptor

If you’re going to have the Lego Technic Stunt Truck running around, you might as well get the Lego Technic Police Interceptor in pursuit. This is another durable Lego Technic Set with the Lego Technic Police Interceptor having around 185 pieces. This is another great Lego Technic Set for beginners with less pieces than the Lego Technic Cars. The Lego Technic Police Interceptor has another special engine like the Lego Technic Stunt Truck that winds up as you pull it back, and propels forward. These are a great toy for ages 7-14 because it introduces engineering and building elements without overwhelming kids with pieces. Don’t get us wrong though, 185 pieces is still a challenge to assemble. The Lego Technic Police Interceptor is just a great gift idea for kids that want to build and play.

Lego Technic Motorcycle

BMW Motorcycle

Let’s face it, motorcycles are cool! The Lego Technic BMW Motorcycle is designed for ages 10-16 because it’s more advanced than a normal kid. It has 603 pieces for a Lego Technic Set with only two wheels. The Lego Technic BMW Motorcycle measures around 7″ tall and 13″ long like lots of other Lego Technic Sets, so if you’re starting a collection, this is a great addition. It’s definitely not a Lego Technic Set to play with like some of the Lego Technic Trucks. This is for advanced kids with working steering, wheel turning, two-cylinder boxer engine and more. The Lego Technic Motorcycle isn’t an especially exciting toy for kids, it’s likely more of a collectible for those who already go on cross country trips on an adventure motorcycle. We all have friends like that.

Lego Technic Set Construction (Kids Love These)

Lego Technic Crane – Most Popular

This is the most popular Lego Technic Construction Set and also one of the Biggest Lego Technic Sets out there. This 4,056 piece Lego Technic Set will keep you engaged for hours assembling this thing, but it will be worth it. Sitting at 39″ tall and 29″ long, the Lego Technic Rough Terrain Crane is the jewel of any collection. Yet, the Lego Technic Crane isn’t only for show, it actually operates and moves. It comes with moving stabilizing legs, full 360 turning and operating cables. Basically the Lego Technic Crane is big and cool! Perfect for any engineering minded fan you know!

Lego Technic Compact Crawler Crane

This Lego Technic Crane is another example of an epic Lego Technic Construction Set so we have to feature it. There is something about Lego Technic Cranes that kids love, maybe it’s the big machinery. This Lego Technic Crane is a compact crawler that uses tracks instead of wheels and is a little easier to assemble. It has 920 pieces to assemble rather than the 4,056 pieces the other Lego Technic Crane we featured. This Lego Technic Crane stands 20″ tall and 19″ in length, so it’s a bit smaller but if you’re looking for a more cost-effective Lego Technical Set for a gift idea, this is perfect!

Lego Technic Bucket Wheel Excavator

Another epically large and impressive Lego Technic Construction Set, the Lego Technic Bucket Wheel Excavator is a beast of a collectible. We say collectible because it features 3,929 pieces and stands 16″ tall and 28″ in length making it one of the longest Lego Technic Sets. This isn’t a Lego Technic Set for a beginner, it’s what you give to someone who likes construction equipment and a challenge. However this is another Lego Technic Construction Set that is no longer made, so it’s only available from third-party sellers with prices vary from $400 – $600. So you really have to want a challenge to pick up this Lego Technic Construction Set, but it doesn’t exist out there!

Lego Technic Volvo Wheel Loader

The Lego Technic Volvo Wheel Loader is just cool looking! I mean look at it! It’s what a construction vehicle would look like on the moon. This Lego Technic Set is like a streamlined version of a bulldozer, so we have to give props for Volvo letting Lego put together the Lego Technic Volvo Wheel Loader Set. The Lego Technic Volvo Wheel Loader stands at 7″ tall and 23″ in length ranking it up there with the largest Lego Technic Construction Sets. However it’s 1,167 pieces so it’s not overly advanced, but not a beginner level Lego Technic Set. Let’s say this is perfect for an intermediate level who LOVES construction and building! You just may have to search a bit for the Lego Technic Volvo Wheel Loader, it’s only available from third parties from around $130 to $200. Amazon does have some sellers though.

Tractor

The Lego Technic Tractor is like an advanced John Deer Tractor but neon green. The Lego Technic Tractor is a great set with lots of flexibility in pieces. Meaning that the Lego Technic Tractor has a crane up to lift stuff, has a plow in front it can push things around, it has a fork lift to lift supplies and has flexibility where you can add anything to it. We think it’s this flexibility that makes the Lego Technic Tractor so fun. Plus there are lots of kids that live on farms, and this is literally the perfect gift idea for them. Those and people who love construction already!

Bulldozer

No one says bulldozers aren’t cool, they are! The Lego Technic Bulldozer is a 617 piece Loge Technic Set that is ready to crush and bulldoze everything in its path. With a fully moving blade that’s also replaceable with ripper, the Lego Technic Bulldozer is an absolute must for Lego Technic Construction set. Let’s face it, a Lego Technic Bulldozer is an ideal symbol for construction. Plus the fact that it has wide, working tracks to move around. It’s like a tank. However this Lego Technic Set isn’t mass-produced anymore so it’s a bit hard to find, but not impossible. You can find Lego Technic Bulldozer sets on Amazon from third-party sellers ranging in price from $230 – $300.

Mine Loader

We were drawn to the Lego Technic Mine Loader because it’s a giant wheel buggy with a cool arm in front that can grab and lift anything. As a kid, this is a cool function! Plus at only 476 pieces, this absolutely for a kid. It’s enough pieces to be a bit of a challenge, but still very accessible. The Lego Technic Mine Loader stands at only 2″ tall (because mines aren’t very tall) but is 13″ long. Think of it as the batmobile, but with a giant arm in front, oh and yellow. The Lego Technic Mine Loader is a must for any Lego Technic Construction Set.

Lego Technic Forest Machine

How many kids are aware of what forest machines do? Well, we’re not sure, but enough that there is a Lego Technic Forest Machine set. Maybe because it’s big at 7″ tall and 13″ in length or maybe because it has a giant saw in front that kids love. Regardless, the Lego Technic Forest Machine is surprisingly popular, it’s at least one of the more popular Lego Technic Construction Sets. Some of the features are a power functions motor, real steering, working suspension, chunky tires and a 270-degree rotating driver’s cab on the Lego Technic Forest Machine. Either way, it’s a giant machine that kids will love!

Lego Technic Planes

Lego Technic Rescue Helicopter – Most Popular

First let’s say that many of the Lego Technic Sets have working motors, but this will not actually fly. It’s purely for the imagination but the Lego Technic Rescue Helicopter does have some impressive functionality like rotating rotors, moveable doors for storage on the Lego Technic Helicopter rear, and a working wench to lift the rescue stretcher up and down. Plus if your board of the Lego Technic Helicopter, you can reassemble it to a futuristic concept plane. At 4″ tall and 11″ in length, the Lego Technic Rescue Helicopter does everything except actually fly.

Lego Technic Heavy Lift Helicopter

If the Lego Technic Set Rescue Helicopter wasn’t challenging enough for you, you should absolutely try the Lego Technic Heavy Lift Helicopter. At 1,042 pieces this is one of the most advanced Lego Technic Planes out there. This advanced Lego Technic Helicopter includes a functional motor and real lights to give you a realistic experience. Plus at 8″ tall and 23″ long, this is also one of the largest Lego Technic Planes. If you get bored with the main Lego Technic Helicopter design, this Lego Technic Set also comes with instructions to create tandem rotor helicopter build. If that gets boring, you still have 1,042 pieces to make anything you ever could dream of.

Lego Technic Cargo Plane

Despite being a Lego Technic Cargo Plane, it is not the largest Lego Technic Plane, but it’s still quite large! Ranging for kids around the 10 – 16 years of age, the Lego Technic Cargo Plane is for advanced kids. In this Lego Technic Set, it comes with two very different instruction sets. It includes directions on the Lego Technic Cargo Plane, but also a Lego Technic Amphibious Vehicle that’s actually really cool! So if you get bored playing in the friendly skies, it can run on water (in your imagination). You can look forward to working doors, motor and wheels that can move up into the plane after takeoff. We admit the Lego Technic Cargo Plane is cool!

Lego Technic Fire Plane

The Lego Technic Fire Plane is sent when wildfires erupt ready to drop firefighters and water to extinguish fires. It’s a really cool concept for kids because firemen are awesome. The Lego Technic Fire Plane is another 2 in 1 design where you can either have the Lego Technic Plane as a propeller plane like the initial design, or you can convert it to a jet! Basically you can make the Lego Technic Fire Plane be the fastest firefighting plane in the world!

Lego Technic Boats

Lego Technic Power Boat

It’s a POWER BOAT but we should emphasize that this doesn’t actually float, there are lots of little pieces so it would take on water if actually placed in a large body of water. With that being said, the Lego Technic Power Boat is SUPER cool to play within your imagination and for collectibles. At 3″ tall and 9″ long, the Lego Technic Power Boat isn’t especially large, it’s made for ages 8+ because it has only 174, so it can be assembled in 30 minutes. However, if you’re building a community of Lego Technic Cars and Lego Technic Planes, you might as well have a Lego Technic Power Boat to round out your city. We’re a bit disappointed that the Lego Technic Power Boat doesn’t have an actual motor, but since it can’t go in the water, maybe that’s ok.

Lego Technic Ocean Explorer

If you want the largest Lego Technic Boat possible, you need to go with the Lego Technic Ocean Explorer Set! It is a giant boat with a helicopter pad and a submarine dock. You will be the living the Life Aquatic with everything you need to explore the ocean or go whale watching. This set is flexible as it can also become a barge with a working crane, but let’s be honest, the initial Lego Technic Ocean Explorer directions are way better! What’s great is you get three toys in one with the Lego Technic Set including the large boat, a small helicopter, and submarine. It’s perfect for kids who like to explore and build.

Racing Yacht

Is this a very complex Lego Technic Set, no the Lego Technic Racing Yacht is super simple with only 330 pieces but it looks so cool and fast! The 11″ tall and 14″ in length Lego Technic Racing Yacht is an excess of luxury for anyone wanting to use the power of the wind to race around the world! The Lego Technic Racing Yacht has an operable rudder, turning winch and eye-catching design. Plus if you get bored with the Lego Technic Racing Yacht initial design, you can convert it to a Lego Technic Catamaran for some diversity. Can the Lego Technic Racing Yacht float in water? Nope, but most (if not all) Lego Technic Sets can’t actually float. This is a show stopper design to collect or play with, just not in water.
